About Us

The Chairs by Chad journey started in 2015. What began as a simple desire to have a chair on my deck that allowed me to see over the railing, grew into the amazing small business we have today. I began selling my chairs at a local flea market at the behest of my UPS driver who saw me building my chair and wanted one of his own. I found out real fast that there was a real need for high quality outdoor furniture that is actually comfortable. Ten years later and I am still making each chair myself with help from my wife. I love what I do and my chairs will always be something I am very proud of. 

I am Chad McVey, the owner of Chairs by Chad LLC. I am a local craftsman who decided that wood working and working for myself was better for my quality of life than working in the corporate world. Now my only boss is my wife of 32 years. I have designed and built chairs and tables for over ten years and have perfected the talent of sitting. In fact, I have awarded myself the title of Master of Sitting. I am currently thinking about launching an apprenticeship program in sitting. Thanks for stopping by, I am going to sit down now.
